Why We’re Out of Network with Some Insurances-And What That Means for You

When you’re navigating healthcare, a common and completely understandable question is:
“Why aren’t you in-network with my insurance?”
As a specialty orthopedic and regenerative medicine clinic, we get this question a lot. So let’s break it down-because you deserve transparency, clarity, and confidence in your care choices.
We’re Still In-Network With Some Plans
First, the good news: We currently remain in-network with several insurance plans. If you’re covered under one of these, we can bill your insurance directly, and your care will follow your plan’s in-network structure.
However, for plans where we’re out-of-network, we’ve made this decision intentionally-and it’s rooted in one thing: providing you with the highest level of care, without compromise.
Why We’re Out-of-Network with Some Insurance Plans
Insurance networks often require providers to see a high volume of patients in short time slots-leading to rushed visits, limited answers, and care that feels transactional. That’s not the kind of medicine we believe in.
At Form & Function Orthopaedics, we choose quality over quotas.
Being out-of-network with certain insurers allows us to spend more time with you, think holistically about your condition, and craft treatment plans that fit your goals-not just what’s pre-approved by an algorithm.
Whether you’re here for knee arthritis, rotator cuff pain, or cutting-edge regenerative options like PRP or MFAT, our care is rooted in partnership, not red tape.
How This Affects Surgical Costs
Here’s something many people don’t realize: Even if we’re out-of-network, most of your surgery costs are still covered by insurance.
That’s because the biggest portion of surgical expenses typically comes from the hospital or surgery center fees-and we operate at in-network facilities.
So, while our clinic may be out-of-network for certain plans, we can still perform your surgery at an in-network hospital-giving you access to your benefits while also receiving more personalized, surgeon-directed care.
We Offer Flexible Payment Options
We know investing in your health is a big decision. That’s why we make the financial process as transparent and flexible as possible.
We accept HSA and FSA payments, and we also offer financing through CareCredit, allowing you to pay over time for things like office visits, procedures, and regenerative therapies not covered by insurance.
We’re Here to Help You Understand Your Benefits
If you’re unsure about your plan or want help figuring out what’s covered, our team is happy to walk you through it. We can even provide a superbill for out-of-network reimbursement, helping you get the most from your plan.
Bottom Line:
Whether you’re in-network, out-of-network, or somewhere in between-we’re here to guide you with clarity, compassion, and cutting-edge care. Your goals are our goals, and we’ll help you get there with less red tape and more results.
